EXCLUSIVE: Harry Styles and His Pop Princess
You know Brittany Cooper, the totally gorgeous girl-next-door who just happens to be on the biggest tour of the summer? Yeah, she’s living the sweet life, performing every night, having a personal stylist and a debut album (that you should all pick up right now!).
But that’s obviously less interesting than her boyfriend who is none other than Harry Styles from One Direction.
We’d love to tell you that you heard it here first, but sadly that’s just not the case. The buzz has been all over Twitter ever since the couple shared their first date as she showed him around NYC. (Can you say, “Awwww!”)
These last two days must have been tough for poor Harry! He was with One Direction recording their new album in LA, and Brittany was all the way across the country in NYC releasing her album.
Luckily for us (and you) that meant Harry had a few spare minutes to chat with us on the phone about her. And we’ve got all the juicy details about their relationship! So read on!
SugarScape: What’s it like being in a high profile relationship?
Harry Styles: It’s not really that high profile! It’s nice to date someone in the same industry. She gets all the demands and pressures of the job. She understands what it’s like.
SugarScape: Do you find it difficult to be on tour together? Is there any time when you think to yourself that you wish you had some alone time?
Harry Styles: Not really. We don’t spend as much time together as you might think because we do a lot of press separately. I love having her on tour with us! It’s nice to have a girl around to keep us lads in line!
SugarScape: Adorable. How did you ask her out anyway?
Harry Styles: I just asked her to show me around New York City since I knew she grew up around there. Then I snogged her!!
SugarScape: Brilliant. Well, thanks for the chat Harry! Good luck with the rest of the tour!
Harry Styles: Thanks. We love you!
So there you have it. Harry won her over with just a kiss. Isn’t that romantic and adorable? And it seems like he just loves to kiss her, check out the photos on the next page.
Niall rolled his eyes as he scrolled through the seemingly endless amount of photos of Harry and Brittany out and about. Brittany hadn’t been lying when she’d said that literally everyone knew about her and Harry. It was the hot topic of conversation among One Direction fans.
As evidenced by the article and subsequent comments, obviously everyone wanted to know all of the dirty details. If only they knew what was actually going on.
But Niall just sighed and put his phone away. He had known Harry had done that short interview with SugarScape, and really, he had let curiosity get the better of him when he’d read it. He knew he shouldn’t have – that it really wasn’t going to help anything.
He was right. It only served to make him feel worse and prove Brittany’s point. They couldn’t be together – if she broke up with Harry now it probably would create press, but not to the magnitude it would if she broke up with Harry and began dating another member of the band.
Niall knew all to well how their fans were – and it wouldn’t paint Brittany in a positive light if she did something like that.
But it still didn’t stop him from wishing things were different. He was being selfish, and he knew it. He envied Harry, but at the same time he felt bad for him. Harry had no idea that Brittany harboured feelings for someone else. As far as he knew, everything about his relationship with Brittany was perfect.
Niall glanced out the window of the tour bus and saw Brittany walking through the lot. He debated going outside to meet her, to finally talk to her face to face and tell her to make up her bloody mind, but he didn’t. Instead he watched as Harry rushed over to her and gave her a deep kiss.
Niall shook his head. He looked away as he saw Brittany smile and take Harry’s hand. Whatever Brittany was feeling, it was obvious that she intended to keep seeing Harry. She didn’t look unhappy, and she seemed to have some sort of attraction to Harry, at least.

“Can I talk to you?”
Niall didn’t need to look up to know who was standing in front of him, but he did anyway. Sure enough, there was Brittany, but she was without her signature cheeky grin. Instead, her face had a slight frown and was filled with concern.
Niall glanced around the catering area. A few of the members of the group were scattered around, eating or watching TV. Most notably, Harry was playing games with Zayn again, which was probably the reason that Brittany had a free moment.
“I guess,” he sighed, putting his hands in his pockets and following her back out to the buses.
The stepped on to her bus for some privacy, and as soon as Niall closed the door behind himself he leaned back against it and looked at her. She was the one who had wanted to talk – so naturally he wanted to hear what she had to say.
She just let out a deep breath and looked up at him sadly, still wearing that pout on her face.
“Well?” Niall pressed.
“I don’t know,” Brittany said, looking down. “I just don’t know.”
Niall gave her a look. She was unbelievable. One minute she was in his hotel room kissing him, the next she was telling him it wasn’t going to happen. Then she was texting him telling him she wanted to kiss him again… and now she didn’t know?
Niall was quite certain he would never understand how her female thought process worked. “You don’t know? Brittany, you were the one who was trying to get me to ring you last night. What was that about?”
She sighed. “I don’t know! I just… that MTV guy asked me who my favourite member of the group was and you were the first person I thought of, and I swear I do like Harry, I really do, and I’m not trying to do any of this on purpose,” she rambled on, looking up at Niall and biting her lip.
He studied her for a moment. He wanted to have no sympathy for her whatsoever. He wanted to feel happy that she was going through this emotional turmoil, considering what she had put him through.
Of course, it wasn’t her fault that he’d fallen in love with her. And it was that love which kept him from telling her off.
“Well, say something,” she urged him after a few seconds of silence.
“What do you want me to say?” he asked softly.
“Anything!” she exclaimed. “Tell me how stupid and irrational I’m being and that I should be with Harry and that you don’t want me.”
“I can’t tell you that,” Niall said, moving towards her. It was no longer Brittany who was being stupid and irrational, but that was the effect she had on him.
“But you saw the SugarScape article, didn’t you?” Brittany asked, keeping her eyes firmly planted downward. “Everyone knows… it would be a disaster.”
He just nodded, looking down at her. Her eyes were clouded with doubt and the bright smile still hadn’t returned to her face. In that moment, Niall decided he really hated SugarScape and Harry. In his eyes, those were the only things keeping the two of them apart.
After all, if she really didn’t want to be with him, she wouldn’t be standing here having this conversation with him, would she?
He leaned down and brushed his lips against hers. “I saw it…” he whispered, instead of kissing her.
Brittany finally made eye contact with him, but only for a second. “I can’t,” she said, pulling away from him quickly.
Niall sighed, but just nodded.
“It’s not you,” Brittany said quickly. “It’s just… if I kissed you, I don’t think I would be able to stop. And I have to get ready to on stage, and Harry…” she trailed off, taking a breath. “Niall, I just need some time to think about this, okay?”
It wasn’t okay, but there was nothing he could really do about it. If Brittany needed time, then time was what he would have to give to her.
He only hoped she wouldn’t take too long to decide.
